How to Measure
MEASUREMENT TIPS
- Do not take your own measurements.
- Measurements must be taken by a second party.
- Tie a string around waistline for consistent measurements.
- Refer to diagrams for exact points of measurements.
- When Measuring, stand tall with your muscles relaxed and feet together.
- Use a Flexible measuring take, such as plastic or cloth.
- Don't trust your memory, be sure to write the measurements.
- Its better if you measure yourself on your bare skin, not over cloths.
- When measuring, apply constant pressure to the tape (so it doesn't sag) with our pinching the skin.
- Measure under the same conditions each time, such as same clothes or none at all.
STANDARD SIZE MEASUREMENT GUIDE
Reference Diagrams
Height Of Person: Stand next to a wall, put a ruler horizontally on your head and mark at the point where the ruler reach the wall. Then measure the distance from the floor to the mark.
Waist Length: Measure down the back from the base of the collar to the length required (Waist Point).
Sleeve Length: With arm relaxed at side and elbow slightly bent, measure from over point of shoulder, and down outside of arm past elbow to wrist. As a guide, you should not make the tape too snug. you only just be able to feel the tape when measuring.
External Leg Length: keeping the measure taut, measure from the top of the waistband on a pair of trousers (not jeans), down to where you wish the bottom of the trousers to end. please bear in mind the fit you want over the shoe as this will affect the desired length.
Crotch to Ground: keeping the measure taut, measure from the lowest part of the crotch, down to ground.
Chest Girth: This measurement is taken at the fullest part of your chest (across your nipples) under the arms, closely around the body.
Breast Girth (Women's Only):: This measurement is taken at the fullest part of your chest (across your nipples) under the arms, closely around the body.
Chest Girth: This measurement is taken just below to your breast under the arms, closely around the body.
Bicep Girth (Men's Only): Wrap the tape measure tightly around your upper arm i.e. widest part of upper arm just underneath your underarm.
Waist Girth: Measure around the body at your natural waist level.
Hips Girth: Measure around your hips and buttocks at their widest point on a pair of well-fitting trousers (not jeans). please make sure the tape is not restrictive and your pockets are empty. as a guide, when measuring, you only just be able to feel the tape. you should not make the tape too snug.
Neck Girth: Just below your adam’s apple, take a skin tight measurement around your neck.

Neck Circumference At Collar: Measure collar bellow Adam's Apple
Chest Circumference: Measure around center line of chest; at widest point standing straight up & down
Waist Circumference: Measure along center of waistline, 5cm below naval
Hip Circumference: Measure along center of hip line at widest point around hips
Thigh Circumference: Measure at widest point around thigh
Knee Circumference: Measure at center of knee
Calf Circumference: Measure at widest point around calf
Ankle Circumference: Measure above ankle bone
Neck to Knee - Front: Measure length from neck to center of knee (knee to be bent as shown)
Neck to Shoulder: Measure from neck base to end of sleeve joint
Sleeve Joint Circumference: Measure around arm at sleeve joint
Bicep Circumference: Measure at widest point around bicep, with muscle taut
Elbow Circumference: Measure around arm at elbow (arm to be bent as shown)
Forearm Circumference: Measure at largest point around forearm, with muscle taut
Wrist Circumference: Measure at widest point around wrist
Shoulder to Elbow: Measure from sleeve joint to elbow point
Elbow to Wrist: Measure from elbow to point to wrist
Shoulder To Shoulder - High: Measure from top of shoulder across back from sleeve joint to sleeve joint
Neck To Waist - Front: Measure length from neck/shoulder to waistline
Neck To Waist - back: Measure from neck bast to waistline.
Waist To Knee: Measure from waistline to center of knee
Knee To Ankle: Measure from center of knee to top of ankle
Crotch To Knee: Measure from highest point in crotch to center of knee on inside leg
Front Waistline To Back Waistline: Measure from front waistline, under the crotch to the rear waistline
Neck To Ankle: Measure from neck base to top of ankle
Vertical Torso Circumference: Measure from shoulder at neck, down to crotch, underneath and back to starting point
